The Chaos army began on the 25th of June, 2012. It was created by Sapper and Hyper Sonic, the army had many ups and downs from the day it was created, through until the 21st August 2015.
When Chaos returned in January 2016, their second generation soon began under Orange, Owlcity207, Jester and Wyoskyguy. The army achieved sizes of 50+ they even managed to rank first on one occasion on the CPAC Top Ten Armies in April 2016. This generation came to an end in June 2016.

I went on to interview Orange, a Chaos army leader and legend, for some more information about the closure.
CPRAC: Who's decision was it to close Chaos, and why was it made?
Orange: It was an unanimous decision by the Chaos Council and it was because our plan was always to move on from CPA into a community down the line and with Disney working on shutting down all the Club Penguin Private Servers along with quarantine slowly going away, we decided that it was in our best interest to shut down the army and instead continue as a community of friends to play other games and do other stuff.
CPRAC: What have you enjoyed most about leading this army?
Orange: What I have enjoyed most has been getting all of our old veterans to come back and reuniting with all my old friends.
CPRAC: How do you expect the final event to turn out?
Orange: I’m hoping to achieve historic sizes, but I expect to get around 30+ which would be a great send off in my opinion.
CPRAC: Do you think there will ever be a return of Chaos in the future?
Orange: Nah I believe this is it.
CPRAC: People have said Chaos is on a steady decline, what is your opinion?
Orange: Well it’s a mix of quarantine slowly ending for some people with a lot of troops being older and having to go back to work and the fact that we have put little to no effort the past 2-3 weeks on recruiting and having events because we don’t really care anymore.
CPRAC: Thanks so much for your time, Orange.

The interview with Orange indicates that this is in fact the end of the Chaos army, and they are hoping for the best possible sizes at their last event. Orange has enjoyed the time he has spent with his old friends during the last couple of months and now wants to move on from the Club Penguin Army Community.
